Avocado oil is a plant-derived emollient pressed from the Persea gratissima fruit pulp, used in skincare to soften dry skin and support the lipid barrier. It is rich in oleic acid, beta-sitosterol, and natural vitamin E, providing both occlusion and antioxidant cover. Effective at 1% to 30% in body, hair, and facial creams. Pairs broadly with most actives. No major conflicts.
Topical avocado oil is considered safe during pregnancy and lactation per Mother to Baby. Cosmetic-grade refined oil carries no notable allergen or systemic absorption concern.
