Resveratrol is a stilbene polyphenol antioxidant used in skincare to neutralise reactive oxygen species and support visible firmness. It activates SIRT1-pathway gene expression, scavenges free radicals, and modulates UV-induced inflammation. Pairs well with vitamin C and ferulic acid for stacked antioxidant defence. No major conflicts.
Considered safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Topical cosmetic resveratrol delivers exposure well below the resveratrol content of routine dietary sources. Mother to Baby and Trivedi et al. (2017) flag no concern for topical cosmetic use during pregnancy or lactation.
What Resveratrol does
A polyphenol antioxidant from grape skin. It helps neutralize the free radicals behind dullness and environmental stress, so overnight skin looks defended, revived and more even by morning.
